Can I say Best PASTRAMI SANDWICHES in New York! Not When I’m Taking a Big Bite Out of This!

A few years ago I took my first trip to New York! My very good friend Maile who is a flight attendant, lives in Brooklyn so she came out to the city to hang out for a few days. One of our “Must-Eats” was of course, a New York Deli Pastrami Sandwich and lucky for me, Maile knew exactly where to go.

We were greeted by the most gracious, warm-hearted and charismatic Manager Steve!

Althought it was my first visit, I felt like I was eating at my Uncle’s house. He made us feel so welcome and I could tell he was a huge part of the success of 2nd Avenue Deli, not just the REALLY good food!

Then another manager Tony appeared who was just as hospitable and they shared with us how they greet eachother every morning! What a riot!

Alrighty, it’s time to eat! I love the giant salty, sour, crunchy pickles! I had to taste the Celery Soda… not bad, refreshing and of course a huge Pastrami Sandwich with lots of fixings on the side!

I was grateful to Maile for bringing me here and treating me to the best Pastrami Sandwich I ever had, but once again, it was Tony, Steve and his staff that made my lunch tasts soooooooo much better. It was festive, fun and filling to my tummy and my soul.

Last year, I had the fortune of visiting New York again, and Maile was great enough to once again come out to the city to hang out with me. We both agreed that we had to back and visit the gang at 2nd Avenue Deli.

We had a busy day and didn’t get there until the evening and was so disappointed that Steve and Tony were already gone for the day. = (

We were still welcomed and treated so graciously by the awesome staff here.

And… of course enjoyed the best sandwich ever! Eating it brought back happy memories of again meeting some wonderful people during my travels.
